Chevrolet Cruze

GM India has launched an automatic variant of the Chevrolet Cruze. Following the launch of its manual variant in October last year, GM has plonked a 6-speed auto ‘box in the feature-rich Cruze.
Available only with the fully loaded LTZ variant, the Cruze Auto comes with host of features like push button start, keyless entry, cruise control, smart screen and electric sunroof to name a few. Along with Clutch-to-clutch shift operation for added precision, the car also gets a triptronic mode for a sportier drive.
The Cruze AT is powered by a 4-cylinder in-line 2.0-litre diesel motor (same as Cruze manual) producing a potent 148bhp and 33kgm of torque. Coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox, the Cruze takes 4.30sec to reach 0-60kph, while 0-100kph mark comes at 9.95sec (Cruze manual takes 4.22sec and 9.31sec respectively).

Speaking at the launch, P.Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India said "The Cruze is all about value, refinement and power-packed diesel performance combined with an array of unique features. And with the Automatic transmission option the Cruze offers everything any discerning Indian car buyer could want in a saloon at a price point that represents uncontestable value for money".
By adding an auto ‘box to the Cruze, Chevrolet has pitched its potent saloon against the mighty Skoda Laura AT and the capable VW Jetta AT, which have been in the market for some time now. But with a price tag of Rs 15.93 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), the Chevy is almost Rs 50,000 cheaper than the Laura AT. And the long equipment list that Cruze Auto comes with, it's a great value for money car.
