Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to bring the refurbished version of the Commander Jeep called Thar to the Indian Market early next month. The company had taken off the model in the year 2000 but now is once again planning to hit the off-roading niche market in India.

The engine will be supported by a 5-speed manual transmission. The Thar is a hardcore off-road driving device which will also come up with the Borg Warner transfer case with 2 Speed gear reduction ratios of – High 1.0:1 Low 2.48:1which is indeed something special! The approach angle of 46 degree and departure angle of 30 degrees of Thar make the model all the more appealing. The ground clearance of 200mm makes the Thar an irresistible temptation for speed lovers yearning for exploration of the untrodden world.
The Thar is likely to be designed in four colors – white, red, silver and black. At present the car is enjoying an itinerary of some European and South African countries. The company has already begun the production facility in Mumbai and the vehicle will soon ramp on the Indian roads in style.
